How to register your SIM with RICA
Activate your new SIM in five easy steps and you’re good to go.
After RICA registration, a minimum recharge of R10 is required to activate the SIM.
Enter your personal and SIM details
The ICCID number is on the back of your physical SIM card or on the original SIM card packaging.
Enter your contact details and address
You’ll also need to upload your proof of residence later in the process.
Upload copy of your South African ID
Accepted formats include PDF, PNG, JPG, and JPEG.
You can also take a photo using a device with a working camera.
Provide proof of residence
Accepted documents include utility bills, store account statements, or bank statements not older than 3 months.
You can also take a photo using a device with a working camera.
Verify identity with a selfie
Make sure you’re using a device with a working camera.
If not, select the option to visit a Telkom store to continue the process there.
